How to Find Your Ring Size at Home

Moissanite bypass ring on a white background

Ordering a ring online is easy once you know your size. Here are two simple ways to measure at home.

Method 1: Measure a ring that already fits

  1. Choose a ring that fits the finger you plan to wear the new ring on.
  2. Measure the inside diameter straight across the center, in millimetres.
  3. Find the closest diameter in the chart below.

Method 2: Measure your finger

  1. Wrap a thin strip of paper or string around the base of your finger.
  2. Mark where it overlaps, then measure the length in millimetres. This is your circumference.
  3. Find the closest circumference in the chart below.

US and UK ring size chart

US size UK size Inside diameter Circumference
4 H½ 14.9 mm 46.8 mm
5 J½ 15.7 mm 49.3 mm
6 L½ 16.5 mm 51.9 mm
7 N½ 17.3 mm 54.4 mm
8 P½ 18.1 mm 57.0 mm
9 R½ 18.9 mm 59.5 mm
10 T½ 19.8 mm 62.1 mm

Tips for an accurate fit

  • Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger.
  • Avoid measuring when your hands are cold.
  • Wide bands (like a chain or Cuban link ring) can feel tighter; consider going up half to one size.
  • Between sizes? Choose the larger size.
  • Always check the sizes available on the product page, as ranges vary by design. Sizes on product pages are US sizes.
